Fellowship Program for strengthening and promoting Constitutional Values
Rajasthan [Banswara, Udaipur, Dungarpur and Pali Distrct]

The Fellowship programme of Astha Sansthan aims to strengthen constitutional values with special focus on justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. Fellowship Program on Constitutional Values supported by Azim Premji Foundation is going on from 1st August 2023. The purpose and the scale of the program is to support 40 fellows to build perspective on constitutional values, using the pathways of working on issues of land, forest and gender among tribal and Dalit communities for building a value-based society and culture across Banswara, Dungarpur, Udaipur and Pali Districts of Rajasthan.

The Fellowship programme focused on various thematic intervention within the framework of promoting constitutional values which has enabled fellows who are grassroot leaders to come up with varied ideas and intervention strategies. Fellows are working on group formation through regular interaction within settlements. After orientation of all fellows organized two cross-learning and perspective building workshop. Fellow has taken their own issues like qualitative education under Right to Education, Health and Nutrition, Tribal Self Governance under PESA, Community Forest Management under FRA, 100 day’s employment under MGNREGA, Social Interest, Child Labor and Bagging, Tribal traditional practices and POCSO, People with Disability, Domestic Violence against Women, Single Women Alone, Divorce, Unorganized Labor and Silicosis, Mandna under Tribal Culture and Kathodi’s Development etc.

Our eight mentors provide assistance directly and indirectly to each fellow towards their constitutional connect from community concern. Documentation Assistant is assisting fellows to keep their change of story writing and Fellow Coordinator is associated with regular field visits at grass-roots level each month. Through this program we have reached 600+ hamlets, 340+ villages, 100+ gram panchayats, 40+ blocks among 4 Districts of Rajasthan.

More than 90 percent fellows from scheduled tribes and 50 percent fellows are women. This program covered fifty percent areas out of its 09 District under Fifth schedule area of the State under Article 244(1) of the Constitution of India.
